nCONDITIONS FOR SECOND REVIEW OF STANDBY ARRANGEMENT MET

During his stay in the United States, Finance Minister Trajko Slaveski met IMF Head of Mission Mark Griffiths and his team. It was reaffirmed at their meeting that as a result of the successful cooperation, all the issues of the second review of the standby arrangement were closed, Utrinski vesnik reports.

Macedonia fulfills all the conditions and criteria of the arrangement and the second review will be adopted by the IMF Board of Directors at its meeting set for 27 April this year.

The issue of the early repayment of Macedonia's debt to the IMF was raised too. Representatives of both the parties had a meeting on a technical level to discuss the matter.

Minister Slaveski also met with World Bank senior officials Orsalia Kalantzopoulos and Shigeo Katsu, with whom he discussed the realization of concrete projects after the adoption of the 4-year strategy for partnership with the World Bank by the Bank's Board of Directors on 27 March 2007, as well as the economic and political situation in Macedonia and the region.
